Resources for mid council leaders and congregations

Around the world, millions of people lack access to sustainable food sources, clean water, sanitation, education, and opportunity. Each gift to One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) helps to improve the lives of people in these challenging situations. The Offering provides us a way to share God’s love with our neighbors in need. In fact, OGHS is the single, largest way Presbyterians come together every year to work toward a better world.
Congregations and mid councils that have a standing order for this Offering should have received their resources by now. If resources have not been received, you may contact Presbyterian Distribution Service at 800-524-2612 or pds@pcusa.org.
Remind your congregations about the children’s curriculum available for download for use in promotion of the Offering. There is a children’s sermon, two lessons with activities, and ideas to connect worship and the congregation. These and all other resources to aid in promotion can be found at presbyterianmission.org/oghs.
New this year is an Engagement Placemat, intended to be used by families at Sunday meals to connect, engage, and support the ministries carried out by OGHS. And as always, there is a new Gracie the Fish story, Gracie and the Reef Mender, that can be used with the fish coin boxes.
