LOUISVILLE — The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board will receive a report from its executive director search committee today at a 3 p.m. EST meeting.

During its recent meeting in Cincinnati at the end of April, the committee said it hoped to make a recommendation for leadership of the Presbyterian Mission Agency in May. At its fall 2017 meeting, the PMA Board approved a recommendation to change the title of the executive director position to president and executive director.

The search committee was formed at the March 2017 meeting of the board while Tony De La Rosa was interim executive director. De La Rosa left the agency in September 2017. Dave Crittenden filled the role of acting executive director immediately following De La Rosa’s departure and tendered his resignation effective the most recent PMA Board meeting.

Interim leadership for the agency has been established by the PMA Board with a triad of existing PMA leadership which includes Jose Luis Casal, director of World Mission; Barry Creech, director of policy, administration and board support; and Rhashell Hunter, director of Racial Ethnic & Women’s Ministries.

The last permanent executive director of the agency was Linda Valentine, who served from 2006 until July 2015.

If named and approved by a vote of the board, the recommended candidate for president and executive director will be forwarded to the 223rd General Assembly (2018) in St. Louis for confirmation.
