The Rev. Traci Smith, author of the book “Faithful Families, for Lent, Easter & Resurrection,” will be featured in a Feb. 24 webinar sponsored by the Office of Christian Formation.

LOUISVILLE — Looking for in-home faith practices for Lent?  The Office of Christian Formation (OCF) has partnered with author and pastor Traci Smith and Chalice Press to offer her newest book, “Faithful Families for Lent, Easter & Resurrection” at half price.

An ordained PC(USA) minister serving at Elmhurst Presbyterian Church in Elmhurst, Illinois, Smith will also be featured in a “Faith at Home Lent Practices webinar on February 24 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.  She will share simple Holy Week practices that can be done at home.

Smith also produced six videos which will be released during the webinar. Each of the five Sabbath practices of faith formation featured in an OCF online Faith Practices Toolkit — storytelling, hospitality, service, prayer and retreat — will be highlighted, along with a Holy Week practice from Smith’s new book.

“Families continue to value resources for faith formation at home. We’re encouraging people to use these six videos during Lent,” says OCF coordinator Stephanie Fritz. “We plan to continue to offer future resources around our five practices for older adults and youth — and for Spanish- and Korean-speaking families.”

For information on how to order five- or 10-book bundles of Smith’s “Faithful Families for Lent, Easter & Resurrection,” click here.  Priority for the discounted books will be given to smaller churches. OCF hopes to reach 150 churches before the money allotted for the project runs out.
