The Executive Committee of the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), meeting for its annual retreat at Fourth Presbyterian Church, Chicago, Illinois, July 27-29, took action on the mission and ministry of the Ghost Ranch Education & Retreat Center in Abiquiu, New Mexico. 
The Executive Committee of the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) is recommending that the Board suspend its search for a new Presbyterian Mission Agency (PMA) executive director. Acting on a suggestion by the Executive Director Search Committee, the Executive Committee—meeting in Chicago for its annual retreat—recommended naming a new search committee next spring. 
The sounds could be coming from any busy school office responding to the myriad requests of all those who enter the doors. 
As thousands of athletes gather in Rio de Janeiro in the coming days for the 2016 Summer Olympics, a lot of attention will be given to a group of 10. For the first time in Olympic history, a team of refugees will be competing. 
For 160 years, the Presbyterian Church has had a presence and witness in Colombia. But that presence has never been more important than it has the past 30 years. Rev. Luis Fernando Sanmiguel has worked closely with government leaders and opposing rebel forces to bring a lasting peace to his country. 
The way Mark Roberson sees it, it was Roswell Presbyterian Church’s turn to plant a church. Roberson, a ruling elder for over 50 years—18 of those at Roswell—knew more than just a little about church planting. He’d worked with the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta’s New Church Development Commission (NCDC), and in 2011 he just knew it was Roswell’s time.
Deteriorating conditions in the South Sudanese capital city of Juba have left thousands of people in desperate need of food, shelter and health services. Fighting broke out between rival factions on July 8 and while a ceasefire is currently in place, the humanitarian needs have escalated. 
While it may be true from a Christian perspective that “all lives matter,” says the Rev. Dr. Cynthia Campbell of Highland Presbyterian Church in Louisville, she points out that from the very beginning of United States history we have violated this standard of belief: that all are created equal.

Fitzgerald is the Hunger Action Advocate for the Presbytery of Eastern Virginia. It’s one of many hats she wears for the presbytery and she’s gotten quite good at it the past five years.
