Hello, my name is Nidia Marleny Linares Martinez, I am 25 years old and I am from El Salvador, the smallest country in Central America but a very beautiful one. I studied a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and I graduated in January 2022. I love music, sunsets and traveling, but also the time with my family and friends is very valuable to me.
From August 2022 to July 2023 I was part of a program called “Young Anabaptist Mennonite Exchange Network” through Mennonite Central Committee, I lived in northern Mexico on the border with the United States. I served in a migrant shelter and during this time I met the person who invited me to be part of the YAVs.
I’m grateful for the opportunity and making the decision to do this was easy, since I’m sure that we are called to serve others. This is what Jesus did.
