My name is Erica Dallas. I am a native-born Texan from the Dallas area. I recently graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history with a minor in sociology. I have worked in Christian education at my home church, Bentwood Trail Presbyterian in Dallas, participating in and supervising numerous youth and churchwide activities that have included people from different nationalities, ethnicities, faiths and economic status. I enjoy interacting with people of various demographics who come from different walks of life. Hearing their stories and getting to know these people has opened my eyes to the challenges that others may face. This has allowed me to feel more connected to God and His love for all of His creation. I am so excited to be going to Austin for the 2018-2019 Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) year. This faith journey will challenge me, I’m sure, but I know that God is, and will be, steadfastly guiding me through it. I cannot wait to meet new people and accept new challenges, knowing that my life and my future will be blessed beyond measure and forever changed.
