Greetings! I am Emma Maney and am an 18-year-old from Asheville, North Carolina. I feel called to share God’s love and acceptance of all, with everyone. Throughout high school, I have been passionate about the inclusion for LGBTQ+ people in the church as well as social justice issues. In going through the YAV application process, I kept feeling a pull toward the Borderlands YAV program even though I have had no experience of listening to or being with migrant people and families. I am so excited for this next year of my life, and I can’t wait to see how God will move through me, open my heart and mind, and lead me as I grow during my YAV year!
