Hello! My name is Ailih Weeldreyer, and I am from Kalamazoo, Michigan. As of June 2019, I am a graduate of Kalamazoo College with majors in political science and French. Beginning with my experience as a YAAD at GA 223 and continuing throughout the past year I have been inspired by the ways in which my faith intersects with my academic interests in politics, human rights, and social justice, which drove my decision to apply to become a YAV. After two years as a resident assistant I look forward to building relationships and engaging with community in Washington, D.C., in the work I do and with other YAVs in the program. In my free time I love to dance, read, travel, watch movies, and spend time with friends and family. I am so excited to explore a new city, grow in my faith and discover more about the ways I can bring together my passions to bring good into the world.
