Rob Fohr is joining the Presbyterian Foundation as the new Vice President of Strategic Alignment and Mid Council Relations.

This newly created position will serve both the Presbyterian Foundation and New Covenant Trust Company, which is part of the Foundation, ensuring the two organizations are in alignment as both continue on a strong path of growth. Additionally, Fohr will build relationships with presbyteries and synods in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Tom Taylor, President and CEO of the Presbyterian Foundation, said Fohr was a stand-out candidate.

“We were seeking someone who knows and understands not only the Presbyterian Church but the wider world of faith institutions as well as the world of investing, and the best person who truly knows both is clearly Rob Fohr,” Taylor said. “He is a strategic thinker who can help us chart a path for the future that aligns both organizations well with the needs of the Presbyterian Church. We are especially grateful to tap into his many connections in the PC(USA).”

Fohr has served in the Presbyterian Mission Agency (PMA) since 2008, most recently as the director of the Office of Faith-Based Investing and Corporate Engagement, where he serves as lead staff person for the PCUSA’s committee on Mission Responsibility Through Investment (MRTI), the committee charged with advancing the church’s mission goals through its invested capital. In addition to MRTI, Fohr has served in a variety of roles in the PMA, including as the chief staff person charged with advancing the agency-wide goal of helping the church connect more effectively with young adults. He has also served as the manager of organizational planning and effectiveness and was staff to the PC(USA)’s Committee on Theological Education.

Fohr holds a Master of Arts in religion from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Abilene Christian University in Texas. Fohr serves on the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility based in New York City. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the New Covenant Trust Company.

He is an ordained ruling elder in the PC(USA), and is married to the Rev. Christine Coy Fohr, who serves as pastor of Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. They have two daughters, Madeline and Maebel.

Fohr says he could not be more grateful for his time with the Presbyterian Mission Agency. “During my 15 years with PMA, I’ve had so many opportunities to grow in faith and in leadership,” Fohr says. “Every position I’ve held has deeply enriched my own knowledge of the world and has connected me with different communities in the PC(USA) and beyond. I know many of these relationships with valued colleagues will continue as we are all part of one connectional church. I am looking forward to this new opportunity with the Foundation.”
