Hi there! My name is Leah Pellett. I am 22 years old and from Nashville, Tennessee. In May 2018 I will graduate from Elon University in North Carolina, and I cannot believe how fast these years have flown by. In college I have been very involved with my college’s Christian ministry, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, and leading a women’s small group. Being part of this ministry has really sparked a fire in my heart to pursue marginalized communities, and inspired me to devote a year to learning to live intentionally in the community I am placed in. I also had the amazing privilege of studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, the fall of my senior year. Being abroad really taught me the value of stepping out of what’s comfortable to experience both heartbreaking brokenness and incredible beauty beyond my expectations. That’s something I hope for my YAV year as well. I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to spend my YAV year in Denver. I am expectant that the Lord will continue to challenge me to grow deeper in faith as I recognize my privilege to choose a year of service, and further explore God’s call to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with Him.
