Hello! My name is Kris Scharstein, and I grew up in Darlington, South Carolina. In May, I will graduate from the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!) with degrees in biology and art history! At USC, I worked as a mentor and conversation partner for international students, a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and a volunteer at the Free Medical Clinic in Columbia. My time and experiences at USC have fostered a joy for learning from and working alongside people from around the world. For the next year, I will continue exploring this passion as a Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) in Scotland. In the year ahead, I hope to deepen my understanding of how to use my education and gifts to partner with the people of this world in moving us all toward wholeness. I am so excited to share in the joys and struggles of my Glasgow community next year!
