My name is Tacoma Monroe. I am from the St. Louis area, and my family now lives in Louisville, Kentucky. I am 22 years old and currently studying communications and urban studies at Lake Forest College in the suburbs in Chicago. In my time on this world I have learned that I am happiest and more challenged when I am not the first person I think about in a job, which is why I am taking a YAV year to explore what that might look like the rest of life. My life has been a rollercoaster of challenges and peace. I hope my YAV year will challenge me to find the new peace in my life and the world around me.
