Hello everyone! My name is Emily Hicks and I will be serving as a 2018–19 YAV in Washington, D.C. I currently live in Atlanta, Georgia, and work on the interior design team at an architecture firm. Working in design I spend a lot of time listening to clients so I can create a solution that works for them, within the confines of a building. I have realized that this gift from God can be used in many other arenas, so for this YAV year I am hoping to spend a lot of time listening. I want to listen to the people I am serving, working with, and living with. Most of all I want to listen to God. I hope to grow immensely in faith this year, while also determining whether my next career move will be in ministry or politics. Please follow along by reading my blog.
