Racial Justice & Civil Rights Travel Study Seminar

May 28 - June 6

This event is a Racial Justice Pilgrimage, sponsored in partnership by the Peacemaking Program and the Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley. From Tuesday May 28 – Thursday June 6, participants will visit important sites (Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee) and hear from speakers regarding the civil rights movement. Goals include:

• learn about the events and people of the civil rights movement.
• visit significant sites and museums that tell the story of the civil rights movement in US history and today.
• engage with local leaders and Presbyterians who continue the legacy of the civil rights movement today and engage in racial justice and anti-racism work.
• create a plan to share learnings and impact the racial justice and anti-racism work of their presbyteries and congregations.
