Roland Park Presbyterian Church

Roland Park Presbyterian Church’s Matthew 25 focus is “dismantling structural racism.” Our Racial Justice Task Force continues to study racism in depth — articles, videos, podcasts, websites, webinars, books, etc. Our church groups and committees have faithfully incorporated racial justice into their work.
Two highlights:
The nearby historically Black community of Hoes Heights was protesting the planned closure of an access road to their community. We supported them by writing a letter to local leaders opposing the closure and by hosting a town hall meeting at their request that helped gain the attention of city leaders for a fresh look at the issue.
The Christian Education Committee and the children joined in the Helping Hands of Baltimore project led by three local high school students. Their efforts provided 50 winter street bags and 75 summer street bags filled with essential items for those living on the streets of Baltimore, who are predominantly people of color.
