Special Offerings Website
It’s an exciting day in the Special Offerings office, as we are finally ready to bring you something we’ve been working on for a little while (okay, a long while) now. So, we’re going to take a quick break from promoting the Pentecost Offering to announce the brand-new Special Offerings website! Well, technically it’s just five new landing pages (one general page and one for each of the individual offerings), that are still located under the PC(USA) web umbrella, but we really don’t like speaking in technicalities 🙂
Some of you might be wondering why we’ve decided on this new drastically redesigned web presence, so here are a few of those reasons:
- We listen to you. Over the past couple of years we’ve received a lot of feedback about resources being difficult to find and difficulty in navigating our pages.
- Less is more. One of the first things you’ll notice when you land on the new site is that compared to our old page, there’s a whole lot less going on. We think this new image-driven and minimalist approach will make getting around the site a whole lot easier.
- Increase in mobile traffic. It’s no surprise that a very significant number of those people visiting our site are doing so from mobile devices. With that in mind, this new site has a “responsive” design that we feel is much more user friendly and we love the consistency it will provide across a wide range of devices, from desktop computers to smart phones and tablets.
The new website will greet visitors with large scrolling banners which include the offering name, dates of the its season, and its current theme. Here’s a look at the current Pentecost Offering banner:
Before we send you on your way with a link to the new page, we want to thank those of you who have reached out to us regarding your frustrations with the old page, because listening to your voices makes us better at what we do. Also, it goes without saying that any new endeavor such as this isn’t without its share of bugs, so please let us know via email at specialofferings@pcusa.org if you notice something wonky with the new page or if you have any other suggestions for how we can improve your online experience.
