Jesus and the Prophets: No longer a child
Luke 4:24 • And he said, “Truly I tell you, no prophet is accepted in the prophet’s hometown.”
Jesus went back to his hometown to deliver his first sermon. But after a challenging message, the same people who praised him were now ready to push him over the side of a cliff.
Have you ever felt that the people most familiar with you know you the very least? Sometimes we feel like a stranger among family who know our stories but don’t accept the fact that we have changed. Don’t let others bring you down by their skepticism and doubt. God doesn’t doubt you. God has been with you all along the way.
Don’t ever hesitate to go where God leads, even back to the place you started.
Lord, may our faith guide us to the places you want us to be. Amen.
