Remind us, O God, that you indeed have made all human beings equal to us.
When we grumble about strikes but fail to see that the labor movement gave us all the employment benefits we enjoy,

When we grumble about immigrants taking our jobs but fail to see that they pay taxes and help to grow the economy,

When we grumble about dropouts but fail to see that low-performing schools and lack of resources perpetuate academic failure,
Remind us, O God, that you indeed have made all human beings equal to us.
When we grumble about incarceration but fail to see that economic and social conditions feed the school-to-prison pipeline,
Remind us, O God, that you indeed have made all human beings equal to us.
When we grumble about rallies but fail to see that protests play an important part in civil life and democratic societies,
Remind us, O God, that you indeed have made all human beings equal to us.
