The Arms Control Association provides facts and numbers (for example: 13 – the number of years since the United States has produced banned antipersonnel landmines.) that provide reasons for the Obama administration to sign the Mine Ban Treaty.
Recognizing that antipersonnel landmines are weapons of no discrimination which injure, maim, and kill combatants and non-combatants alike (including children!) – the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has called for the United States to sign and ratify the treaty banning landmines.
