International Peacemaker Available September 27-30: Dr. Zuhair Fathallah of Iraq

Apply today to host Dr. Fathallah

Since 1989, the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program has brought 200 International Peacemakers from 57 countries to visit 160 presbyteries, six synods, and several Presbyterian colleges to share their experiences as peacemakers in their own lands. These visits have informed Presbyterians, opened hearts and minds, touched lives, built relationships, and inspired new ministries.

Dr Zuhair Fathallah, a peacemaker from Iraq, is still available from September 27-30.

Zuhair is an assistant professor of Plastic Surgery and consulting plastic surgeon at Basrah Teaching Hospital.  A council member and lay pastor of the National Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Basrah, he has participated in consultation gatherings of the PCUSA in Beirut (2010) and Erbil (2012).   Zuhair’s congregation in Basrah has been an active part of their community, reopening a Kindergarten with a current enrollment of 225 children, broadcasting a Christian radio station with an 18 mile radius that has been approved by the central and local governments, and sponsoring a free pharmacy.  Future plans are to expand the Kindergarten into a primary school and to distribute the Bible freely and openly.  Zuhair is married and has a daughter and a son.
