Brooks-Johnson, executive presbyter for the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta, preached a taped sermon shown during opening worship for the Urban Presbyteries Network conference recently both online and in person at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Building bridges instead of walls in Charlotte, North Carolina

Early this year, the dean of Belk Chapel at Queens University of Charlotte, Dr. Suzanne Watts Henderson, was in Chicago visiting with Eboo Patel. The founder and president of Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC) mentioned to her that he was interested in working with Queens to build a statewide and regional network to do interfaith work in the Carolinas.  

The Rev. Darius Swann dies at age 95

The Rev. Darius Swann, the lead plaintiff in a landmark Supreme Court case, Swann v. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education, died March 8 at the age of 95.
