DECATUR, Georgia — Columbia Theological Seminary has named Maci Sepp Director of Vocational Outreach in the office of Enrollment Management and Vocational Outreach, effective on Monday.
Sepp comes to Columbia from Princeton Theological Seminary, where she was the Associate Director of Recruitment.
“I am honored to be joining the Columbia community as the Director of Vocational Outreach,” Sepp says. “My work in recruitment has taught me that vocational discernment and collaborative learning are fruitful, necessary components of what I do, and that is what I see at the heart of Columbia. Not only is the Columbia community infused with thoughtful minds and generous spirits, but they also have an impressive and creative vision for who they are becoming. I believe Columbia is paving a unique path and taking a leading role in shaping the future of theological education, and I cannot wait to be a faithful partner in this journey.”
Sepp earned master’s degrees in Divinity and Theology from Princeton, along with certificates in Black Church Studies and Theology, Women and Gender before working in Princeton’s Office of Admissions.
At Columbia, she will be responsible for planning and implementing a vocational outreach strategy in close collaboration with the Enrollment Management and Vocational Outreach team. She will represent Columbia on and off campus while cultivating and nourishing relationships with key influencers, said the Rev. Ann-Henley Nicholson, Columbia’s vice president of Enrollment Management and Vocational Outreach.
“Ask any of her references, and they’ll tell you she’s ‘the best student/editor/collaborator/leader/you name it,’ they’ve ever had,” Nicholson said. “They’ll speak about her intellect, attention to detail, leadership, strategic thinking, and pastoral sensitivities, yet they’ll also praise the humility, kindness, and joy with which she embraces her ministry.”
Columbia Theological Seminary President the Rev. Dr. Victor Aloyo Jr. agreed.
“Columbia Theological Seminary is creating new and meaningful ways to connect with prospective servant-leader-scholars who are passionate about bold and innovative ministries. I am honored to announce the appointment of Maci Sepp as our new Director of Vocational Outreach. Maci has a deep understanding of the evolving nature of ministry and will bring joy and strong convictions that align with our mission to educate and nurture faithful, imaginative, and effective leaders for the Church and the world. I am excited to see how she will use her God-given skills at Columbia Seminary through the Office of Enrollment Management and Vocational Outreach, and I look forward to witnessing the impact of her work guided by the Spirit.”
