Before the opening plenary of Big Tent 2017, participants came together for a time of gathering and community building. But it was anything but the usual meet and greet.
While some 600 Presbyterians are gathered here this week for worship, fellowship and topical workshops at Big Tent, 27 others are here for a very different purpose: seeking their next call to ministry in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
The picturesque campus of Washington University will play host to over 600 attendees as Big Tent 2017, the biennial event of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), gets underway today.
The All Agency Review Committee of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) met yesterday via conference call to receive working group progress updates and plan for its Aug. 21–22 meeting in Louisville.
The Way Forward Commission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is set to release its midterm report today, saying it has started “to dream of the 21st century church we see emerging.” Under the direction of the General Assembly and the Stated Clerk, the group says it is taking a “bolder course” rather than “tinkering with existing structures” in an effort to sustain the organization.
The results are in: The inaugural Benefits Connections events received high marks from participants for contributing to their on-the-job effectiveness.
The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) has written a letter of response to last week’s “open letter” to the Way Forward Commission penned by Tony De La Rosa, interim executive director of the Presbyterian Mission Agency (PMA).
