The 9th International CURE Conference was held this year in Nairobi, the capital of the East African country of Kenya. From May 1-5, 95 delegates from 28 countries and 12 African nations came together under the banner of Pan Africa CURE to further their agenda of human rights and prison reform efforts in the Unites States and the African continent as well as other countries throughout the world. Union Theological Seminary in New York City recently added caste to its non-discrimination policy, making it the first independent seminary in the nation to do so. Last year, commissioners to the 225th General Assembly approved a recommendation by the Family Leave Policy Task Force — later ratified by the presbyteries — to provide ministers a minimum of 12 weeks of paid family medical leave. The Advocacy Committee for Women and Gender Justice has published the resource below to help congregations — especially smaller congregations — with ideas for seeking out worship leadership during each of those 12 weeks.
