Think about the first and last words of Scripture. The book of Genesis opens with “In the beginning …” (Gen. 1:1). And the book of Revelation closes with “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!” (Rev. 22:20), followed only by a postscript extending Christ’s grace to all the saints. The season of Advent brings together both ends of the Bible.

Second Presbyterian Church in Chicago is among 10 churches around the country to receive a total of $1.9 million in repair and restoration funds designed to safeguard their physical legacies and strengthen the value they contribute to their communities.
The grants were announced in a news release Thursday by the National Fund for Sacred Places.
Scott Galloway’s father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all Presbyterian pastors. After hearing social media feedback that parents were not enamored with Vacation Bible School offerings at nearby churches, Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee, created from scratch its own Peace Camp.
Thirty-one campers, including about 10 from the host church, took part in this year’s camp.
