My name is Trevor Merrifield. I am 22 years old and a native of Davidson, North Carolina. I graduated from Auburn University in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. A lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, I am humbled by the grace that has been ever-present in my life and am drawn to spend time with those who sometimes feel unloved. I’m energized toward action by issues of inequality and social justice, and seek ways to initiate institutional change to deal with these issues. Our America was founded to be a city on a hill, and we have fallen far short of that goal so far. Injustice and anger control so much of our public narrative, but I think our future is bright, and I’d like to be a part of making my home a little friendlier. Through my year of service, I hope to learn how better to create relationships that are challenging to me, and find experience that forces me to grow through work and fellowship.
