My name is Sophia Stone. I am from Rochester, New York, and am 22 years old. I have just graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Science in molecular genetics and a Bachelor of Arts in music. I love singing, puppies, spicy food and explaining to anyone who will listen how natural selection and music theory work. When I was 7 years old, my family moved for a year to Berlin, Germany, where I attended a German elementary school. This experience with cultural immersion has made me fascinated with foreign traditions and languages. I am thrilled to have an opportunity to expand my understanding of the world through this upcoming year of service in Zambia. I do not yet know the ways in which this experience will challenge me, or how I will rise to these challenges, but I know that God will be at work in me.
