I am originally from Saint Simons Island, Georgia. I attended Queens University of Charlotte for four years before moving to Edinburgh to attend the University of Edinburgh, and I received a Master of Science in International Development. There, I fell in love with Scotland and its rich landscapes and people. My academic interests have led me to focus on mental health and counseling and research international development programs that provide resilience and psychological first aid for youth and adolescents. Through my studies I have tried to understand my faith and development, I know that there are many solutions to a myriad of issues, however, it is my hope that by experiencing this YAV year I will understand how the Church of Scotland is alive and working in communities to meet people where they are, and to grow in meaningful relationships. I am so grateful God has led me back to Scotland and am excited to see where this year will take me.
