My name is Kate Underwood. I am 23 years old and from a little town called White Salmon in Washington State. Last spring, I graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Theology. Through my study of theology and my personal faith experience I have come to understand commitment to community and social justice as key parts of Christian discipleship and ways of being the world. Whenever I engage in these activities, I am humbled, challenged, and experience God. Through this next year as a YAV, I hope to grow in my ability to build and sustain community with others and grow in my understanding of what it means to engage in reconciling work as a Christian.
