I am Haley Whitson. I was born and raised in plain old (Plano) Texas. However, these past four years I’ve resided in Conway, Arkansas, attending Hendrix College, and just graduated with a degree in anthropology. I grew up very active at my home church Bentwood Trail Presbyterian Church, and living in the DFW area I had the opportunity to be involved with Grace Presbytery. Through youth leadership programs, mission trips and youth conferences, I met and had many examples of YAVs I looked up to. Like those I looked up to I wanted the opportunity to serve others and be in intentional community.
Throughout this next year, I am excited to challenge myself in many ways: physically, as a bike will become my new main mode of transportation. I hope be pushed to build my Spanish speaking abilities when in a heavily bilingual region. I will also continue to learn how my faith and serving others relate.
