My name is Emily Teerink. I am 22 years old and originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I studied government (with a concentration in international relations), environmental studies and Spanish at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. I will graduate in June 2018. My passion for international development was sparked during my junior year of college when I studied in Ecuador and interned with an indigenous commune just outside of Quito. I am looking forward to helping with community development projects in Zambia, where I will be serving with Young Adult Volunteers (YAV). I am excited to see where this next year in Zambia will take me as I learn and grow through service and faith.
