Hello, my name is Martin Ngwa, I was born in Cameroon, I moved to the United States at the age of 14 years old. I currently reside in Maryland with my family since moving to the U.S. I am grateful to say my church Riverdale Presbyterian Church has been my second home supporting me all the way with mission trips and while I was in school. I am forever grateful. With the opportunities giving to me and life changing experiences, I decided to give back by helping others whenever I can.
I just graduated from Salisbury University and University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a double major in Social Work and Sociology. I have a great passion to help people. I want to be a clinical social worker. I thing we are inspired by what other people do to us. For me to be able to thank those who cared for me and helped me to be who I am today, the best way to thank them is to help another person along the way.
I found out about YAV though a friend I met at a summer camp in New Jersey, ever since she stood by me and encouraged me to at least serve a year with YAV. I think it was God talking through my friend. And I am grateful to start this new journey and answer Gods call to service.
