Today’s the ultimate Farm Bill Tuesday. At 9:30 a.m. members of the Religious Working Group on the Farm Bill held a press conference calling on members of the Ag Committee (meeting today at 1:00 p.m.), Speaker Pelosi and other House leaders to ensure a reform-minded bill reaches the House floor.
Yesterday, Boston’s WBUR NPR station carried a one hour show, "On Point: 2007 Farm Bill" featuring interviews with Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin, author Michael Pollan and others. Listen here.
The committee is scheduled to meet through Thursday. Go to betterfarmbill.org, call your congressprerson and tell him or her the status quo is not acceptable. You want him to tell House leadership a reform-minded bill that includes eliminating trade-distorting subsidies must reach the House floor.
