It’s been more than six months since the beginning of the Gulf Coast oil spill. Even though the well has been capped, communities are still suffering, God’s creatures are still dying and Creation is still wailing. Recovery and healing will take years maybe even decades.
And on top of it all, it looks like Congress will finish the year without responding to the oil spill which is unacceptable. Click here to sign the petition calling for a moral response to the oil spill.
The faith community has been working to ensure that Congress responds in a moral and productive way that helps communities in the Gulf and ensures that nothing like this ever happens again. We will be delivering the petition to Congress next week when they return and we want to deliver a strong message of support for the Gulf Coast.
