Environmental Education Job Posting

Colleagues at the River Ridge Environmental Education Program(RREEP) at the John Knox Center, a Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center in Ten Mile, Tennessee asked me if I would help spread the word about environmental education opportunities at their site.  Below is a job description and contact information.

River Ridge EEPat the John Knox Center is a small residential environmental education program located on Watts Bar Lake, 1 hour west of Knoxville, TN. Our program consists of a plethora of experiential, teambuilding, ecology, and recreational classes taught to small groups of primarily 4th – 8th grade students from the Knoxville/Chatanooga during the week.  We also offer entertaining and educational evening programs for our groups. Instructors teach up to four classes a day, evening programs, aid in various aspects of center operations and work rotating weekends during the season with retreat groups. QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for highly enthusiastic instructors with a passion for learning and teaching in the natural environment, the ability to live and work with staff as a team, well developed communication and leadership skills, self-motivation. Teaching/camp experience and a degree in a related field are preferred. You must currently be eligible to work in the USA.
 
COMPENSATION INCLUDES: $225/week, worker's comp., housing, all food, Internet access at office and laundry in staff house, flexible schedule, first aid and CPR training, opportunity for lifeguard certification, friendly work environment, and fun weekend adventures with staff.
 
We are currently hiring for our Spring 2011 and Fall 2011 seasons – potential multiple season employment.
