Presbyterian Hunger Program is the program in which Environmental Ministries and Earth Care Congregations has a home. We believe that the root causes of hunger and poverty include the destruction of the earth, and that destruction of the earth is worsened by worsening hunger and poverty. PHP works to alleviate hunger and eliminate its root causes. Will you join us in this work?
This spring, we have worked on showing the intersections of social justice and earth care through:
- The spring PHP Post, our Hunger Justice Journal– focused on “Confronting the Isms.” Click here to download your copy of the PHP Post Spring 2017 issue.
- Workshops on environmental racism and justice, with resources posted online for Presbyterians to offer classes in their own area.
- Sharing this year’s Earth Day Sunday resource “Environmental Justice for Indigenous Peoples.” Click here to read more from Creation Justice Ministries, and click here for the Presbyterian branded copy of the Environmental Justice with Indigenous Peoples resource.
- Supporting the Bears Ears National Monument protection, under threat of the current Administration. Sign on to protect indigenous sacred lands, if you haven’t already!
