Faith and COP15

The United Nations Climate Conference, COP15, started yesterday and runs through December 18.  The United Nations COP15 website allows you to watch webcasts from Copenhagen.

The faith community will have strong representation in Copenhagen.  Bill Somplatsky-Jarman, coordinator of Social Witness Ministries at PC(USA) is a part of the World Council of Churches delegation.  Bill will arrive at the conference on December 10 and will be sending updates to post on the Eco-Journey blog.

On Sunday USA Today ran a cover story about religious groups' action on climate change.  Tyler Edgar of the National Council of Churches Eco-Justice Program is quoted on NCC presence at COP15.

Alma College, a Presbyterian-related school in Alma, Michigan, has sent a delegation of four students to the conference.  You can read their updates on the Alma College at COP15 Blog.

Check back later in the week for Bill's updates from Copenhagen.
