As a companionship facilitator for FONDAMA, the Joining Hands program in Haiti, Cindy Corell connects the realities of farmers facing hunger, seed alienation, and land grabbing with churches in the US, so that together they can work on improving those policies that prevent farmers from doing what they do best—grow food to feed people. As the country continues to recover from the 2010 earthquake, Haitians are seeking to produce more food locally and to rely less on imports. Cindy senses God’s call to empower the Haitian people. “Being a farmer’s daughter, I know the joy a farmer knows when his or her work results in foods to be enjoyed by many,” Cindy says. (E200482)
