The community health facilitator is accountable to the General Secretary of the CCAP Harare Synod and serves as a resource, advisor, and colleague to the convener of the Chikondano HIV/AIDS and Vulnerable Children Committee as the Committee works to establish a Health Desk within the CCAP to promote health education, community, and preventative health care, good nutrition and healthy lifestyles throughout the CCAP and the communities in which it ministers. The community health facilitator also advises the General Secretary (and/or other church leaders as designated) as the Synod explores economic initiatives intended to reduce poverty (e.g., income generation schemes, community savings and loans programs, entrepreneurship training, etc.). Subject to the General Secretary’s approval, the community health facilitator may allocate up to 20% of her time to providing consulting services to the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa (UPCSA) on similar topics, if so requested by the Moderator of the UPCSA Presbytery of Zimbabwe.
