LOUISVILLE — “The (Un)Simple Truth,” a webinar on spiritual formation open to everyone but offered especially for young adults, begins at 7 p.m. Eastern Time Monday. Webinars will continue at the same time on the first Monday of each month after that.

First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown, New Jersey is hosting the webinar.

“It’s not easy to follow Christ in a world of polarizing extremes,” the church said in a news release announcing the webinar series. “How do we love God and our neighbors in a time when cancel culture and divisive rhetoric are the norm?”

Monday’s instructor is the Rev. Dr. Michael Bruner, who taught practical theology at Azusa Pacific University in California for 20 years. He earned degrees from the University of Washington, Princeton Theological Seminary and Fuller Theological Seminary. He’s the author of the 2017 book “A Subversive Gospel: Flannery O’Connor and the Reimagining of Beauty, Truth and Goodness,” and is currently writing a commentary on the four gospels with his father, the theologian and author Dale Bruner.

Michael Bruner is ordained in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), a Lilly Fellow and a resident scholar at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California.
