From their base in the Dominican Republic, Mark and Jenny are committed to serving Haitians and Dominicans. Mark, an agricultural technician, commutes across the Haitian border to serve with the Peasant Movement of Papaye (MPP). There, Mark works with farmers developing systems that produce more food with minimal labor. In the Dominican Republic Jenny and Mark serve with the Evangelical Dominican Church, supporting their Community Health Evangelism program—an integrated approach that helps communities identify physical and spiritual needs and take action to meet those needs. One aspect of CHE that attracts Jenny and Mark is its emphasis on people using local resources to change their lives. Jenny and Mark are energized by the Holy Spirit blowing through, transforming them as well as those with whom they work.
