I was raised in Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill, SC. I have found a home in the Body of Christ through youth conferences, summer camps, choirs, participating in the 221st General Assembly as a Young Adult Advisory Delegate, and serving as a YAV in the Philippines (14-15) and now in DC. In 2014, I graduated from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA, where I majored in Religion and Psychology and minored in Poverty and Human Capability Studies. During my undergraduate career, I was involved in community service, mental health awareness, interfaith dialogue, choral performance, and raising awareness of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. My next venture into the academic realm will be at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and University of Texas-Austin, where I will pursue the MDiv/MSSW in the fall of 2016. After traveling the world with W&L and the YAV program, I have answered the call to live, learn, and serve in our nation’s capitol. I am excited about the opportunities to speak truth to power and stand in solidarity with our poor, deprived, oppressed, marginalized, exploited, and suffering neighbors. Any and all forms of support are welcome, whether it is through prayers, financial gifts, or accompanying me on this next adventure.
