Originally from San Diego, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Sociology, Communication, and Spanish from the University of Arizona. The highlight of my undergrad experience was spending my senior year as a campus intern for FORCE, or Feminists Organized to Resist, Create, and Empower. I have a strong interest in sociological, theological, and feminist topics, and I love art.
I learned about YAV through the Presbyterian Campus Ministry in Tucson, and felt called to a year of simple living, intentional community, and helping others. During the year, I want to learn how to better serve people in need and put that knowledge into practice throughout my life. I aspire to do work that contributes to bettering the world, as well as tell stories through comics on the side.
In my free time I enjoy life drawing, reading, and absolutely learning new things. Some of my favorite artists include Rockwell, Leyendecker, and Hilary Knight, as well as a number of indie artists. I’m not much one for TV, but I love cartoons and animated movies.
As a YAV I am graciously supported by friends, family, and Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church.
The Young Adult Volunteer program is a year-long service program for young adults between ages 19 and 30. Read more about the YAV program here
