Presbyterian World Mission Strategic Direction
In February 2010 the General Assembly Mission Council (GAMC) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) adopted a “strategic direction” for its Presbyterian World Mission over the next three to five years.
The mission statement of the new strategy is “to engage with U.S. Presbyterians and global partners for faithful and effective participation in God’s mission in a globalized world, growing together as communities of mission practice.”
Learn about general guidelines for international partnerships between PC(USA) congregations, presbyteries and synods and international churches and institutions, and read the policy "Presbyterians Do Mission in Partnership," adopted by the 215th General Assembly (2003).
Read Partnership, Solidarity and Friendship: Transforming Structures in Mission by Philip L. Wickeri, a PC(USA) study paper on partnership.

In the Presbyterian Mission Agency’s 2012 financial audit, Presbyterian Mission compares extremely well to other US church, development, and charitable organizations in terms of the percentage of each dollar received going to program costs. Using the Charity Navigator (the nonprofit world’s industry standard) comparable statistics, the Presbyterian Mission Agency ranks first of nine major NGOs, with the highest percentage (93.02%) used for program costs.

Presbyterian mission personnel serve alongside global partners in more than 50 countries around the world. They proclaim Christ’s good news, empower vulnerable people, and build bridges of reconciliation in some of the world’s most troubled places. They also are working with grassroots Presbyterians and global partners to form what we call “communities of mission practice.”
We believe these communities offer places for mutual learning and increase our faithfulness and effectiveness in mission. We invite every congregation to build a relationship with at least one mission worker. This relationship may involve prayer and correspondence. It also could include providing financial contributions through a World Mission account listed in this book. We hope your congregation will prayerfully consider building a relationship with one or more mission workers.
