Who is SDOP?

"A ministry of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Self Development of People is a partnership of love, justice and empowerment reflecting the image of God who stands with all people."

Self-Development of People is a ministry that affirms God’s concern for humankind.  We are Presbyterians and ecumenical partners dissatisfied with poverty and oppression, united in faith and action through sharing, confronting, and enabling.  We participate in the empowerment of economically poor, oppressed, and disadvantaged people, seeking to change the structures that perpetuate poverty, oppression and injustice.

DO NOT ERASE

‘Why we do what we do’

Rev. Wilma A. Quiñónez-CuberoSDOP is the reaction of a church that knows the call to love your neighbor as yourself; "whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them."   The church that claims to love kindness, do justice and walk with the God who walks with the poor. We are who we are and do what we do because God has called us to embody the Word in the power of the Spirit who once called the prophets,  the example of the Lord and his indescribable passion for justice.
