Destini was born and raised in Harrisburg, PA and is a member of Capital Presbyterian Church of Carlisle Presbytery. Destini graduated from Penn State Harrisburg with her B.A. in Political Science and is currently obtaining her master’s degree in Community and Economic Development online through Penn State. Before joining the YAV Team, Destini has served the PC(USA) by being a member of Advocacy Committee for Women’s Concerns (ACWC) and the Diversity Coordinator for Presbyterian Women of Carlisle.

In August 2019, Destini began her work with the YAV program as Associate for Recruitment and Relationships. She stepped in as Interim Coordinator for the program in September 2020 before taking up the responsibility to lead the YAV program as its Coordinator in a permanent role in November 2021. She has a heart for young adults, and a deep passion to see young adults from every demographic given the opportunity to participate and be transformed by this program in ways that lead to community transformation.

Bridgette has worked with The Presbyterian Church for the last 21-years and with the Young Adult Volunteer program for the last 13-years. In her role as Mission Specialist for Logistics, Bridgette oversees coordinating and arranging the orientation, transition, and site coordinators events. She also is the point person for the application process, insurance, and background checks.

Bridgette is the proud small business owner of a Creative Moments Designs. It creates beautiful wreaths for your door and home. Bridgette is a die-hard University of Louisville Cardinal Fan.

A native from Chennai, India, Champaka has served in various offices in Presbyterian World Mission since 2004 and with the YAV program since 2015. She has a background in finance and systems management and primarily assists with YAV program finance management


Deidre Allen

Deidre was born and raised in Columbus, OH, and had an early relationship with Christ where her ministry continues as she lifts up marginalized communities and shines her light and love of Christ with others. Deidre is an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan and enjoys the sunshine, hiking, and God’s creations. Deidre is a proud HBCU graduate from Central State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and is currently enrolled at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary where she is obtaining her Master of Divinity degree. Deidre currently serves as a part-time Chaplain at an Assistant-Living and Skilled Nursing facility in Louisville, KY where she oversees the pastoral care for the residents, families and staff.  

With her current position as a Mission Associate for the Young Adult Volunteer Program in recruitment and relationships, Deidre is excited to bring her pastoral care, programming skills and networking to the position. She will build upon the young adult experience through expanding the program’s awareness and diversifying partnerships with congregations, community leadership and organizations, and campus ministries to cultivate equality, justice, and diversity in this area to provide a life-long faith journey for young adults and others.
