The Fund for Racial Justice and Reconciliation is a permanent endowment fund established to support ministries of racial justice, reconciliation and healing in church and society. These programs will include activities such as: antiracism training, resource development, training in community organizing and conflict resolution. They will provide much needed support for a growing number of Presbyterians in congregations dealing with racial tensions in local communities.

John Buchanan's year-long emphasis on racial justice and reconciliation expresses his deep conviction that “the church matters.” Because it continues to matter in the struggle for racial justice, we are reminded of Edler Hawkins prophetic assertion that, "This is the time to ... follow the present leading of the Holy Spirit ... and put sufficient resources to work as the symbol of our intent to provide real leadership in the challenge of race.” The Hawkins Buchanan Fund for Racial Justice is an opportunity to support the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) as it continues to face the challenge of race in the 21st century.

Many have struggled to lay the foundation for racial justice. You can help train and sustain a new generation with your gift.
