Examinations are administered on many seminary campuses and some presbytery offices nationwide.

Persons taking exams are encouraged to do so at one of these established testing sites. However, if a candidate is no longer in seminary or is not able to travel to one of the testing sites within a reasonable amount of time, then the candidate may consider requesting that a special proctor administer the exams. Arrangements for special proctors are to be made by the candidate and the appropriate presbytery committee prior to registration. Details including the special proctor’s contact information must be entered during the online registration process and approved by the presbytery’s committee before registration can be finalized.

  • When you complete the online registration process, an email notice is sent automatically to the moderator of your presbytery's committee/commission requesting the authorization. No separate steps are required by the registrant. However, inquirers and candidates should discuss their plans for the exams with their presbyteries before registering. It is generally not helpful if the first indication a moderator has that a person wishes to take exams is the automated email requesting authorization. by Tim Cargal PC(USA) Staff on 05/07/2013 at 2:54 p.m.

  • A sample of each exam in English, Korean, and Spanish is available on the Senior Exams page of this website (http://www.presbyterianmission.org/ministries/prep4min/senior-ordination-exams/). For a variety of reasons the PCC does not release examples of past exam responses. by Tim Cargal PC(USA) Staff on 12/04/2012 at 10:18 p.m.
