2009 shareholder resolutions
Support faith-based investing with your proxy vote
By supporting shareholder resolutions that further peace and justice, Presbyterians can put their faith into action.
Shareholders have a voice.
When you give careful consideration to the annual proxy voting ballots that arrive in your mailbox you are faithfully looking at those investments as a way to care for God's creation.
The review process
The Committee on Mission Responsibility Through Investment (MRTI) helps you by reviewing shareholder resolutions that concern social and ethical issues related to business operations and policies. The resolutions have been submitted to corporations for their 2009 annual meetings and may appear on proxy voting ballots.
Upon review, the MRTI makes proxy-voting recommendations based on the PC(USA)'s faith-based investment policies. Those policies focus on the pursuit of peace; racial, social and economic justice; environmental responsibility and securing women's rights.
By sharing these recommendations with individuals, regional bodies, related institutions and congregations, the MRTI places faith-based investing in the hands of Presbyterians as they cast their proxy votes.
