Tricia Thompson graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 2011 with a major in Journalism and Mass Communication and a minor in women’s studies. She is originally from Lincolnton, North Carolina and enjoys writing and everything about southern culture. Beginning in August 2011, Tricia will be volunteering with the Young Adult Volunteer
Program in Kenya. While abroad, Tricia will have the opportunity to work closely in the Presbyterian Church of East Africa and the Organization of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) and work as a communications representative for organizations by writing articles, designing web sites and creating reports for U.S. partners.
The Young Adult Volunteer program is a year-long service program for young adults between ages 19 and 30. Read more about the YAV program here
